Glapwell Contracting Services Limited (Glapwell) has more than 40 years’ experience in the design and

manufacture of purpose-built Pressure Vessels and Scraper Traps for the Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical,

Pharmaceutical and Food industries. We work with the world’s leading companies to achieve the most

cost-effective, quality solutions for projects throughout the world.

LOCATION

Glapwell are centrally located close to the major motorways and with easy access to UK ports and

airports. Our location also gives access to the major industrial areas of the country, allowing abnormal

loads to be distributed with the minimal disruption.

MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES

Within our purpose built 20,000 sq.ft. workshop we have the capability to manufacture and test

equipment up to a pressure rating of 10000# with sizes of 3.0 metres in diameter and 35 metres tan to

tan length. Single piece fabrications of up to 50 tonnes can be easily accommodated with an adequate

lifting capacity to enable manufacture and testing to flow smoothly. We also have a separate facility to

allow segregation of materials as well as a dedicated stores facility.

WELDING

With our ability to weld a thickness range of up to 120mm, all our welding is carried out to the highest

standards as well as the strict controls dictated to by both international code and our own QA procedures.

All our operatives are coded welders with all qualifications carried out to ASME IX and EN ISO 15614-1 /

BS EN 288. Techniques used include Manual Metal Arc, Submerged Arc, T.I.G. and M.I.G.

MATERIALS

Glapwell has a wealth of experience in the fabrication and welding of the following materials:

Carbon steel including Low Temperature Carbon Steel

Stainless steel – 304(L), 316(L), 321

22% Cr. Duplex and 25% Cr. Super Duplex

Chrome molybdenum

Stainless steel UNS S31254

Nickel alloys - lnconel 625 and 825

WELD OVERLAY

Over recent years Glapwell has invested in the latest weld overlay technology, enabling us to provide cost

effective solutions when strength and corrosion resistance are required. To this end we are able to offer

Pressure Vessels manufactured in carbon steels with a weld overlay lining in 316L, 904L, lnconel etc.

PRODUCTS

PRESSURE VESSELS

Glapwell have provided a design, supply and manufacture service to all the major contractors both for the UK

and overseas markets. All equipment produced by Glapwell is constructed strictly in accordance with

national and international standards including PD 5500, ASME VIII Division 1, BS EN 13445, Stoomwezen,

AD Merkblatt and the Pressure Equipment Directive.

LAUNCHERS AND RECEIVERS

Glapwell have specialist knowledge in the design, supply and manufacture of Scraper Launchers and

Receiving Traps, including specialist quick opening Closures for both the onshore and offshore markets.

Coupled with this we have been involved in the development of the associated handling systems for this

equipment.

SPECIAL ITEMS

Glapwell have extensive knowledge in the supply of complete packages to the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical

Industries e.g., hydrocyclones, heat exchangers, pipework, skid mounted packages, feed-guns,

coils and filters.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Glapwell operates a strict Quality Assurance Management System, which was first accredited with

ISO 9000 (BS5750) certification by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance in 1987. We have continued to

hold this accreditation through the implication of a continuous improvement programme involving all

Glapwell employees and are happy to have our systems audited by any potential client.

We also continue to hold the American Society of Mechanical Engineers U-Stamp enabling our company

to provide equipment throughout the world.
