Herrenknecht Vertical is a German manufacturer of onshore and offshore drilling rigs and equipment. Our automated drilling technology enables contractors and operators to work safer, faster and more cost efficiently.

Herrenknecht Vertical onshore rigs are operating successfully in Europe, Asia and Latin America, in geothermal wells as well as in oil and gas applications. Due to our ongoing focus on innovation, Shell awarded us the contract to develop and build the drilling rig for its R&D campus near The Hague, the Netherlands. Upcoming operations and automation processes are tested with this Herrenknecht Vertical rig before their field implementation.

Offshore, we designed and built the hydraulic drilling equipment for one of the most successful jack-up rigs in the southern North Sea. Due to the light weight of our units, the compact design and extended reach of the cantilever, our offshore units are particularly used in well intervention, P&A and light drilling applications. Our competence in supply chain management solutions reduces our customers’ running costs by shifting offshore working packages to the onshore side and automating the complete value chain.
