RUDI PROFILE
The Rural –Urban Development Initiatives (RUDI) is a local
Nongovernmental Organization (NGO) registered in Tanzania Reg. ONGO/1933 with
it headquarters in
RUDI has presence in 26 Districts in 14 Regions of Tanzania
supporting over 100,000 farmers organized in 400 groups. RUDI is ISO 9001:2015
Certified as providers of Business Development and Professional Capacity
Building Services to smallholder farmers using a value chain approach. RUDI has
vast experience in the Maize, Paddy/rice, Sunflower and Horticulture value
chains.

Specific activities:
Facilitation of communities to prepare development
priorities using specific tools such as O & OD, PRA etc
Business and technical skills training including “farming as
business”
Business planning and management
Association formation, registration management and
strengthening
SACCOS formation and management; including linkage to credit
sources for crop financing
Value chain development through multi stakeholder
coordination, linkage to Business development services (BDS), and market and
microfinance linkages
Support identification of warehouses, renovation, and
equipment with basic requirements as per Warehouse Licensing Board, warehouse
management and linkage to credit sources.
Organize stakeholder meetings; discuss issues hindering
private sector participation and linkage to government and development partner
programs. Support PSOs in lobbying and advocacy activities
Support Climate change adaptation activities through Climate
smart Agriculture, Agro-forestry Productivity and Improved Livelihood (PIL)
