In as-welded structures, the low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation during welding, resulting in improved corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C-276 is a wrought alloy of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum that is very resistant to corrosion. Because this alloy is resistant to grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone, it can be used in most chemical processes.
