Construction and function are as follows:
1. Check nut - Brass, nickel-plated to hold the gland with the switchgear instrument.
2. Gland body - Brass nickel plated to hold compression ring, metal washers & rubber ring.
3. Nipple - For holding the armoured wire by bending & fixing between two washers.
4. Rubber ring - Made of rubber for gripping the outer PVC sheathing of the cable.
5. Metal washer - For sealing the rubber ring by tightening the compression ring.
6. Compression ring - Brass nickel-plated for compressing the cable.
